Bexleyheath Town Centre is joining forces with Bexley Council to support ‘Stamp Out Spiking Day’ on 15th July, addressing the serious issue of drink spiking in social settings.
Understanding Drink Spiking
Drink spiking involves adding drugs or alcohol to someone's drink without their knowledge, leading to serious health risks and potential harm. This malicious act can cause physical, emotional, and psychological trauma, prompting communities like Bexleyheath to take action.
Community Efforts
On 15th July, Bexleyheath Town Centre will feature posters and banners to educate the public about drink spiking. Local bars, clubs, and restaurants will participate by distributing leaflets and providing resources on staying safe. Staff will receive training to recognise and handle spiking incidents effectively.
Collaborating with the Met Police, healthcare providers, and community organisations, we aim to:
Raise Awareness: Inform residents about the signs of drink spiking and protective measures through social media, local news, and community events.
Offer Support: Providing resources and support for victims, including counselling and legal assistance.
Enhance Safety: Encouraging venues to adopt safety measures, such as drink covers and offering testing kits for suspicious drinks.
‘Stamp Out Spiking Day’ is a community call to action. We want to make it clear are making it clear that drink spiking will not be tolerated. This initiative highlights the importance of community solidarity in creating a safe environment.
Join us on 15th July to support ‘Stamp Out Spiking Day.’
Together, we can create safer spaces and ensure our community remains secure and respected. Let's stand together, raise awareness, and make a difference.
